‘Elf and Safety gone mad, but no concern for real dangers

Dear Mr Bradshaw

Please see the following article ref the Health and Safety Executive banning traditional british games for school children in the UK, ie Conkers, British Bulldog and Leapfrog. My question to my MP is, has the HSE gone mad?

It is OK to install a wind turbine in a school’s playground but not OK for the kids to play tried and tested playground games.

I appreciate you are currently awaiting a response from the HSE ref the two collapsed WTs in the South West last year, but I would ask my MP to bring this matter to the appropriate Minister for the HSE.

Tell me Mr Bradshaw, would you allow your children to attend a school, which had a WT in the Playground?

I suppose they could tie the naughty kids to the blades and let them spin for a couple of hours? Personally, I would like to tie the HSE CEO and leave her there for a couple of days.

With thanks

Yours sincerely

Councillor Clatworthy

Dear Mr Bradshaw

Please see the following quotation
from Councillor Clatworthy ref Asset Management at the Devon County
Council

My
Role

I
have Cabinet responsibility for the management of the Council’s finances,
property and trading units, the use of its assets and the development of its
estates, including the schools’ and education property portfolio, the
development of the Council’s procurement systems and oversight of the Council’s
annual budget setting, medium and long term financial planning, monitoring of
capital and revenue expenditure, year end closure of the accounts and Treasury
Management activities so as to achieve value for money in the delivery of
Council services.”

In
the event that the DCC does not hold an approved Asset Management Plan in place it
would automatically follow that the DCC do not have any Transparency , Accountability or Security ( TAS) in place.

As
MP for Exeter, can you please explain to me how the DCC can hope to achieve TAS
in the absence of any approved Asset Management Plan? If my memory serves me
correctly, all local authorities are obligated to have an approved AMP in place
as an integral part of their Fiscal Audit remit.

I
would be most grateful if you would write to Mr Eric Pickles seeking a
explanation how local Governments can adhere to central government fiscal
guidelines in the absence of any fundamental Asset Management Plan.

In
its current state of affairs the DCC Fiscal and Procurement Department is wide
open to fraud and theft of public funds.

Merry Christmas and I hope Your New Year’s
resolution is to take Dransfield seriously?!

Gas Safety at the Exeter Uni Climbing Centre

College Climbing Centre Posted on Mon, December 22, 2014 18:01:55

Dear Mr Bradshaw

Please see the following emails to the oversight authorities ref the subject title.
As you can see from the photograph, the gas installation is a serious non-compliance to Gas Safety Standards.

The emergency shutdown valve (ESDV) is located under this steel housing which renders the safety valve inaccessible .

I understand you are awaiting a response from the Health and Safety Executive and the Devon County Council on this matter.

Shall we wait for body bags before you take public safety seriously?

With thanks

Now, wind turbine welding failures

Dear Mr Bradshaw

Yet another wind turbine failure, not bolt failure this time but welding failures.
It’s only a matter of time before body bags are required relating to wind turbine failures. Once again, I call upon my MP to request a public inquiry into wind turbine safety

With thanks

Hurrah, hurrah – a response

Lightning Protection Posted on Sat, December 13, 2014 23:25:20

Email sent – 13 December 2014 13:05

Dear Mr Bradshaw

I acknowledge and thank you for the Lightning Protection
System Test Results from the Print Works premises in Exeter.

I am at a
complete loss to understand how these LPS test rests were obtained because the
test results certificate indicates 40 test point locations at the Print Works
Premises, which I find quite astonishing because on a recent survey I failed to
find one single test point.

Unless these 38 test points have been installed inside the premises it beggars belief how the premises were tested.

May I
suggest you write back to the Print Works premises accommodation manager and
ask him to give you a list of the 40 lightning test points.

In the event
there are no external LPS test points at the print works, the recent test
certificate may have been fraudulently approved.

What does Bradshaw do to earn his salary?

Windfarms Posted on Fri, December 05, 2014 17:08:00

Dear Mr Bradshaw

It is now two weeks since I sent you the 2 “PROTECTED” reports ref the
collapsed Wind Turbines (WT) in the West Country from Health and Safety Executive.
My questions to you now are:-

1. Did you read the reports? If not why not?

2. If you did read the reports you should now be in a position to share my
concerns for public safety ref Wind Turbines in Devon and nationwide.

3. What are you going to do about it?.

I suggest and recommend you call for a public inquiry into the general safety of the wind turbine industry and, in particular, the design,
construction, installation and operation of WT nationwide.

It beggars belief these WT are being installed in school playgrounds nationwide. Such actions are not only in breach of HSE guidelines for WT safety, but I see another Aberfan disaster coming down the track, clickity clack.

It beggars belief WT are being installed in school playgrounds and adjacent
to major motorways.

With thanks

Yours sincerely

Alan M Dransfield
