Subject: RECENT SPATE OF ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS IN DEVON

Dear Mr Bradshaw

There have been numerous road traffic accidents in Devon over the past 18months which have been attributed to poor weather conditions. Another serious traffic accident occurred today on the A380

I believe these accidents are being caused by inferior road works and poor quality hot rolled asphalt, which has been used as a cost cutting exercise.

I would like to make a FOIA request to the Devon County Council but it would be pointless as they would surely refuse it on vexatious grounds.

However, I would call upon my MP to seek assurances from the DCC that appropriate asphalt testing is undertaken and in particular the Asphalt Surface Friction Properties Testing.

With thanks

Yours sincerely

Alan M Dransfield
